BQ27542-G1: What is the risk when design capacity over 14500mAh?

Hi,

      bq27542-g1 datasheet say it support max capacity is 14500mAH.  Customer have one product  their battery capacity are 15000mAh and already mass product for years.

They want to know what is the risk if the design capacity over the max value.

    Hi Jeff,

    The are not significantly above the threshold and that is why they haven't seen any issues. The risk of having design capacity over the max value is that you could have some register overflow when the gauge performs calculation which could lead to erroneous remcap/ soc reporting.Typically if a customer has larger design capacity values, we recommend scaling down the capacity.
