TPS53513: Please check the schematic design

Part Number: TPS53513

Hi All

I'm using TPS53513 chip in my project . Please check the schematic design. Thank you for your help

  • Hi Chen Chen,

The same as the other post, to give a thorough review, can you give some details on the requirements your design and how the component selection was done? Otherwise all I can do is look for obvious errors.

    1. I recommend adding a 0.1 µF or similar valued input capacitor from VIN to PGND. This should be placed as close as possible to the pins of the IC.
    2. Connect the VO pin to the net between R604 and R605, similar to how it is done on the EVM.
    3. It looks like the 2x RC time constant setting was selected on the MODE pin. Based on the datasheet, for this output capacitance and output voltage, the 1x RC time constant is likely more appropriate. Do you have some details why the 2x RC time constant was this selected?

In addition to this make sure the layout example is followed as close as possible when doing the PCB layout. A couple things in particular to pay attention to are:

    1. Placement of the input caps.
    2. Connecting of the GND pin to the thermal pad. I do not see these nets connected in this schematic.

    Best Regards,
    Anthony
