BQ24170: About TS pin function

Hi there,

Datasheet of TS pin function for BQ24170 says that "The temperature qualification window can be set to 5-40°C or wider. The 103AT thermistor is recommended". Can I broaden the range to -40 degree? 103AT thermistor can be used at temperature of -40 degree? Thanks.

Jenny,

Using the design spreadsheet at www.ti.com/.../sluc244, which includes the resistances of a 103AT thermistor, it appears that you can set the minimum temperature to -40C. I am curious as to what you will be charging? I am not aware of a LiIon battery that recommends charging below 0 C.
