TPS65266: please help check why there is big leak current during 65266 is working

Part Number: TPS65266

we meet a issue relate to leak current with TPS65266:

When TPS 65266 is working, there is big leak current, even if there is not load,

such as , for the VOUT1, or VOUT2, remove the load of them, just keeping its full circuit, the leak current is existing,

if we remove the inductor(2.2uH) of each one, the leak current will be decreased about 7mA: remove the inductor of Vout1, leak current will be decreased 7mA, then remove the inductor of VOUT2, more 7mA will be decreased...

please help check whether it is normal or not?

  • Hi,

Relative high current at no load current is because TPS65266 works in Force Continuous Conduction Mode(FCCM).
You can refer to related description in datasheet. This mode can maintain small ripple at light load, while the compromise is lower efficiency.
If you want to get smaller VIN current at light load, you can refer to TPS65266-1.
    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Hao
