BQ27621-G1: Recommended battery chemistry and capacity for BQ27621

Hi,

I am interested in using BQ27621 for monitoring battery level in a wearable sensor. The target battery chemistry and capacity is Li-Po and 25-50 mAh, respectively. Looking at the datasheet, I could not find any information about the recommended and compatible battery capacity to Bq27621, but the TI's product searching result indicates the minimum capacity to be 100mAh. Let me know if this product can be used with smaller capacity and eventually compatible to my target battery type.

    Hi Ha

    Since this device doesn't measure current, you should be able to use it for your cells. If you want to use our other IT gauges, you will need to scale the current and capacity measurement following the app note below:
