I am checking the functional safety on the component level.

there is 4 cases on that.

1. Input to output short

2. Input to output open

3. Output drift

4.Output oscillate.

I don't think case 1,2 is possible on this component.

Can someone give technical reason why it is impossible?

If it is possible, how can I protect from that?

I am not exactly sure what you are asking. Are you asking for pin Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (pin FMEA) for REF5050A-Q1? Or are you asking for the circumstances in which the above 1-4 cases will occur while using REF5050A-Q1?

Sang,

We don't currently have this information for this device. I can test the device on the bench and physically short the individual pins together to see what happens. If you would like to know the DFMEA (design failure modes and effects analysis) you will need to contact your locate TI sales office to request the information. Please let me know if bench testing will suffice (applications approach) or if you want the design information. Thanks!
