BQ24610: About algorithm the battery detection

Part Number: BQ24610

Hello!
I use the chip bq24610 and I have questions about algorithm the battery detection.
I have the overdischarge battery with the chip DW01-P battery protection. The battery control MOSFET turns off(inside battery).
However, charging is still permitted through the parasitic diode of MOSFET(inside battery).
The Datasheet (SLUS892C APRIL 2015) in part 9.3.23 is Figure 16. (Battery Detection Flow Chart), after (Enable 125-mA Charge), check (VFB > Urech).
The amplitude on pin VFB with the overdischarge battery equal 1.8V. The battery must begin charge, but the cycle restarts.
If the battery control MOSFET turns on, the scheme work rightly.
How can I do correctly detection of the overdischarge battery?

  • The battery detection routine in the BQ24610 is fixed and cannot be changed.
With over-discharged battery attached, the same battery detection routine will applied. 125mA charge current will be appied to the battery pack for 500ms to try to turn on the protection FET inside the battery pack.
