TLC5916: special mode and current configuration

Hi,

I have problem in setting the current configuration code correctly. It seems that even if I change the current configuration value to diffrent values it always seems the same.

I followed the sequences provided by the data sheet. 1. first change to special mode 2. then sending configuration value, followed by toggeling the latch enable. Can you please clarify the sequence given in the datasheet?

I noticed that in the reference code you are not using the built in SPI of the microcontroller.

Is there a way to use the SPI protocol for this case? or is the only way to use GPIO pins?

Hi, Mahlet,

SPI is hard to drive TLC5916 since you need to combine CLK/OE'/LE for different mode.

But you can check TLC59282, which can use SPI.
