TPS65651:How to understanding Absolute Maximum Ratings and Recomend Operation Condition

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65651

Hello

How to understanding Absolute Maximum Ratings and Recomend Operation Condition of TPS65651 ? the device will work normal as long as the voltage is in the range of value in Absolute Maximum Ratings ?

My SCH as show below ,Vin is Vin_4_2 , If Vin_4_2 connect to 5V power supply, is there any risk ? it seems 5V is in the range of Absolute Maximum Ratings

  • Hello Fandy,

Datasheet has a footnote (copied below) that explains how to interpret absolute maximum ratings. Basically, operation beyond the conditions listed in the "recommended operating conditions" section is not recommended. This is not specific to TPS65651 and is similar for most other TI devices.

    Kind Regards,
    Liaqat

    (1) Stresses beyond those listed under absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings
only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under recommended operating
conditions is not implied. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods my affect device reliability.
