Question of TPS54325

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54325

We have a question.

Please tell us the current to set EN=High.

In datasheet, the voltage of EN pin is 1.6V to set EN=High.

Does this IC have the condition about current of EN pin?

Best regards,

Takahiro Nishizawa

  • Hello,

Voltage is the only condition for EN logic, as its a logic input.

    Regards,
    Mathew
  • Nishizawa-san,

I don't directly support TPS54325, but I know it well. The EN pin specification is for a logic input of > 1.6 V for high and < 0.4 V for low. It is treated that way in ATE as a GO/NO GO test (apply 1.6 V to EN and verify device is ON, apply 0.4 V and verify device is OFF). In the actual circuit, the EN threshold is between 0.8 and 1.2 V with 100 mV of hysteresis (I may still have the actual data archived someplace, I worked on this 10 years ago though) Additionally there is a pull down resistor of approximately 350 kohm, so the EN current will vary linearly with the applied voltage.
  • Nishizawa-san,

I was able to find my original data.  The EN high threshold is 0.8 V typical  and the low threshold is 0.7 V typical (100 mV hysteresis).
