BQ25700A: USB charger failed with some PC

Dear TI Sir

My product uses BQ25700A
The product is connected to PC for charging. Some PCs do not recognize the device and cause the device to be unable to charge.

I check REG_20

PC Non-Recognition Device : BQ2570X_REG_20[20]= a000

PC Recognition Device : BQ2570X_REG_20[20]= 2000

Please help to check this problem.

Could you use TI EV2400 and bqstudio tool to connect your BQ25700A?

Terry,

Can you request EV2400 tool in TI website. As for bqstudio, you can download in TI website as well.

Or you may also check does your I2C clock and data signal meet I2C timing specification?

How does BQ25700A identify whether USB or DC is charged and which register can confirm it?

Hi,

This part can't identified the input power source type. We should relied on host to judge power source then programming BQ25700A internal register setting.
