BQ27421-G1: bqStudio Support for BQ27421-G1D?

I am working with the 'D' version of the BQ27421-G1 device and have version 1.3.54.1 of bqStudio Installed.  According to messages presented by this version of bqStudio, it seems that the '-D' version is not supported?  ( I have not had success accessing the 'D' version of the device, but can access 'A' version fine).  Is there another tool available to access the 'D' device?  I see a test version of bqStudio (1.3.86.3), would this support it?  Thanks

    Please download the test version. It may have the bqz for the G1D. If not, please reply here and we will provide you with the G1D bqz.

    Thanks for the response.  I downloaded and installed bqStudio 1.3.86 (Test Version).  This version does NOT automatically detect the 'D' Revision of the BQ27421 Fuel Gauge, and when I select the 'D' Revision from the Gauge menu I still get the warning that it is not supported and may make the device unusable.  However, if I proceed, it does seem that the program can read the Registers and Data Memory, so that part is good.  My question is do I really run a risk of 'bricking' the device with this version of the tool?  If there is an alternate version of bqStudio that may provide a safer / more stable operation, I would be willing to give it a try.  Thanks!
