TPS53219A: effective VREG capacitor value

hello,

our customer asked VREG capacitor effective value because he is worried about DC bias condition. In the datasheet, 1uF capacitor seems recommended though, could you suggest the minimum effective capacitor value.

Hello,
I would say 1uF X5R or X7R with 16V rating should help alleviate dc bias concerns. If concerned I would recommend using 2.2uF cap. Min effective capacitance would be 0.47uF, however it would be better to use 2.2uF if the case size used is small. Typically dc bias is worse for smaller case size.

thank you. I will reply to the customer the effective minimum capacitance would be 0.47uF however 2.2uF has more room.
