TPS92518: Thermal shutdown

Hello

My customer chosen TPS92518 and they are evaluating their final board.

Customer is using PWM dimming(PWM is not always Vcc)

We know thermal shut down is occur when device exceeds 175 deg-C with 10 deg-C hysteresis.

So, my understanding is: if temperature became lower than 175 -10 degnC, =165 deg-C, device is normal operation.

Is is correct?

Customer says IC became thermal shutdown (latched) unless power dow/up toggled.

Please advise.

Hello,

It should not latch. Is it possible to read faults in this state? Do you have a large output capacitor in your design or is something holding the output up so the boot capacitor cannot cycle?
