TLC59116: TLC59116, IEC 61000-4-2 test

Hello, I´m Federico Linares Hardware Engineer from ControlNet and I´m developing a new product with TLC59116IPWR Led Driver. This IC works good in normal condicions, but fails in the

IEC 61000-4-2 electromagnetic compatibility Test (the IC Reset and the registers returns to original state).

Could you recommend us some configuration to improve the stability of power and reset line?.

Hi, Federico,

How do you proceed the ESD test? On the signal wires?

I suppose the hardware Reset causes this and can you connect RESET to VDD and test it again to see if this still happens?

In the test we apply to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) in the chassis of the equipment. The schematic that I send is connected to the I2C4 eSOMiMX7 SOM (www.e-consystems.com/iMX7-som-system-on-module.asp). The TLC59116 work again after the restart the module.
The reason for this problem can be the PCB lines?.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay due to public holidays.

It's hard to say based on current info. I suppose the RESET pin is pulsed during the ESD test.

Can you connect RESET to VDD and test it again to see if this still happens?
