BQ35100: Maximum time of 'Data Update Phase'

Part Number: BQ35100

Hi

I need to know the maximum time for the 'Data Update Phase', i.e. time from bq35100 recognizes GAUGE_STOP() to G_DONE=1.

I am using EOS mode, please adress both flash cases (DF update and Lifetime update).

'R Data Seconds' will remain at 15 sec.

Kind Regards

Claes-Henry Aronsson

  • hi Claes.

Rdata seconds accounts for all that. If you look at figure 6-2 in the TRM, you will see that lifetime updates is included in the stage between gauge stop and gauge done.

    thanks

  • Hi Onyx,

So, R Data Seconds include more than the time to take needed measurements for the kalman filter in the algorithm to function optimally?

When I (the host) sends GAUGE_STOP() I also start a timer. The timer shall ensure that I do not wait for G_DONE=1 longer than necessary, since I need to power off (GE low) the bq35100 asap.

I assume (please correct if wrong) that worst case (longest time) from host sending GAUGE_STOP() to G_DONE=1 is 'R Data Seconds' plus '128 x 8-ms conversion', i.e. 15 + 1.024 sec. Ok?

    Regards

  • Hi Claes,
    yes, That is ok.

    thanks
