LM5116: Can we make this LM5116 synchronous buck converter into isolated buck converter?

Hii,

I want to design Vin-48V, 450W, 31 Amp, isolated buck converter. I have designed synchronous buck converter with LM5116 now, i want isolated version of it.

Will the flybuck(Isolated buck) topology work for this 450 watts using the same IC?

If not then what else is the way to make it as isolated.

Hi,

I would not recommend this method because flybuck does not have good regulation.
I would explore more on the forward type of converter for this power level

But my concern is of using the same LM5116 IC for the forward type converter?

can i use the LM5116 for forward type topolgy?

if yes then can you please suggest me some TI application note / reference design for conversion into forward type converter.

For a forward topology you will need to use a boost type converter. Please check out the TI website for suitable devices.
