Power management of a IoT device advice.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPL5111, BQ21040, BQ25120A, BQ25150

Hi all,

I am developing an IoT telemetry product and i use a Li-based battery.

Currently, i am using TP4056 charger, DW01A Protection IC, MAX17055 bat. gauge and some LDO and Timer IC for a sleeping device. My system sleeps 15min and then wake up (by using TPL5111 and TPS27082).

I read voltage levels with MAX17055.

as shown in the block diagram.

But i want to use a single (if possible) chip for doing this all wit TI.

Can u advise a solution? with low cost?

  • Dear customer,
I've re-directed your request to BMS-BCP(Battery Management Solution-Battery Charge Production) for their battery expertise. We're expertise in PMIC solution; it's after battery management stage to generate all power rails to supply processor's power needs.
Please let's know when you need a few different power rails with some sequences control.
  • Hello
We do not have a single IC that will incorporate all of the above.

Alternate device from the above are possible, a few below:
    1.) Battery charger TP4056 -- BQ21040
    2.) Battery Protector DW01A -- BQ29700
  • Mehmet,

You might take a look at the BQ25120A which has a charger + DC-DC + LDO. It also has VBMON which is a comparator based battery voltage indicator along with BUVLO that is configurable.

If you are looking for a ADC that can read the battery voltage, we do have the BQ25150 which is a Charger + ADC + LDO and is configurable through I2C. The plan is to release in next 2 weeks but I can send you info on that.

Let us know what you are looking for.

    Regards,
    Gautham
