REF5040: VSSOP Package Pin Pitch

Part Number: REF5040

I am using the REF5040 in a new design.  The version in the VSSOP 8-pin  package has a pin pitch of 0.65mm according to the datasheet.

In the same new design, I am also using the TMUX6121.  The VSSOP 10-pin package pin pitch is 0.5mm according to the datasheet.

I discovered this while creating footprints.  Does the TI VSSOP package have different pin pitches for different # of pins?

What is the standard pin pitch for a VSSOP package?

Thanks,

Richard

  • Hi Richard,

Yes, the package pitch is heavily dependent on how many pins are on the side.
There are standard pitches for VSSOP but they are pin dependent standards. Most competitors will have the same pitch per package with same number of pins.
The TMUX6121 is a 10pin package so the pitch is different compared to the REF5040 8-pin.
