TPS2384: CINT pin processing

Hi Team,

My customers have pulled up the CINT pin to 6.3 V at 12 MΩ.

I don't know the reason.

CINT 1 to 4 are similar processes.

I think that this pull-up is unnecessary in my opinion.

Is there anything else you can think of by attaching this pull - up resistor?

Hi Kenji,

I don't think they need a pull-up resistor. Please follow the exact schematic design on datasheet. BTW, TPS2384 is an old PSE device. TPS23861 is a newer device with much simpler hardware design and lower cost. I recommend your customer to switch to TPS23861 for all new designs. Thanks.

But, my question is, if you are pulling up the CINT pin to 6.3 V with 12 MΩ, what kind of problems do you suppose will happen?

Hi Penny,

My customers don't want to change the board if this pull-up resistor doesn't cause problems.
I'm waiting for advice from you.

Hi Kenji,

We highly recommend customer to follow datasheet guidance. Otherwise, unexpected behavior may happen. They can just DNP(do not populate) the pull up resistor without changing the board design. Thanks.
