TPS65086: Help with part selection of a PMIC

Hi,

I have the following requirements:

Input voltage capable operating at 12V but rated to at least 18V input, operating down as low as possible.

Multiple outputs.

                4V @ 2A

                3.3V @ 2A

                3.3V @ 500mA minimum

                5V @ 50mA

                1-2.5V @ up to 250mA (super cap charging)

                Boost to reuse super cap energy.  Ideally I would be able to have multiple taps off of this as well to back up the 4V, 3.3V, and possibly perform a 12V operation. 

This last part is the challenge. 

Low cost would be a must.

Enable lines for all outputs.

I was able to find the TPS65086 with a quick search but it doesn’t look to have a 4V capability or a boost capability. 

Ideally we would want a cap charge circuit instead of basic buck.

    Blake,

    Given the unique set of requirements I don't think we have any PMICs which will cover everything you need. The TPS65311-Q1 looks like a decent fit, but it doesn't appear to have separate enable lines for each rail.

    I think your best bet might be to get a discrete boost converter and try to find a PMIC that can handle most of the other rails. Something like the TPS65581 or TPS65251-1 might be helpful.
