BQ27425-G2A: Average current and power – negative values.

Part Number: BQ27425-G2A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi,

What is the meaning of negative values for average current and power?

Is it a wrong reading from the device?

Also, it seems that the “state of health” gives me wrong reading?

Do I have to do something special in order to get this parameter correctly?

Attached please find a log information recorded from the BQ27425.

Tnx,

  • Hi Tsach
Negative current values means you are discharging, positive means charging. You have to configure the battery correctly following the instructions in the quick start guide to ensure you have proper reporting by the gauge.

    thanks

  • ok.

Should I do anything in order to get correct values from the gauge? (Calibrate?)

Where can I found the quick start guide you were talking about?

I am trying to follow “going to production with bq27425”.

Where can I found the PC utility “bqCONFIG” that the document talks about?

    Does “bqstudio” replace it?

    Tnx
