TPS63802: Start-up question

Part Number: TPS63802

Hi Sir,

In DS, the Input Voltage Range: 1.3 V to 5.5 V (>1.8 V for Device Start-up), it seems can't start-up at 1,6V, but want to double confirm.

Could TPS63802 could star-up at 1.6V (due to the battery min is 1.6V)?

(output is 1.8V; 10mA)

thanks~

Regards,

Driscoll

  • Hi Driscoll,

The UVLO prevents the device to start up if the input voltage is lower than 1.7 V typical. Once started, the device can operate down to 1.25 V typical, please refer to "Undervoltage lockout threshold" data in the table in Section 7.5 of the datasheet. 1.6 V is on the edge, do it is not guaranteed that the device will start at that voltage.

What kind of battery do you use? If the device is turned on only once (when the battery is full and the voltage is >1.8 V) it will operate down to 1.2 V as the battery get discharged if it always remains connected to the battery.

    Best regards,
    Milos
  • Hi Sir,

This application is for mouse. So the battery voltage may low to 1.6V and need to start-up.

    Do you has any commend?

    thanks~

  • Hi Driscoll,

Sorry, currently we do not have a device for which we can guarantee startup at 1.6 V.

    Best regards,
