Part Number: BQ35100

Our customers want to use BQ35100 EOS mode to detect LI-SOCL2 battery status, there are two questions, who can answer them?

1. I can't find the Chemistry ID of LI-SOCL2 in BQ Studio. How can I confirm the Chemistry ID of our battery?

2. After confirming the battery ID, set the corresponding parameters in bqStudio-> Data Memory-> Gas Gauging and EOSData, and then measure them through EOS Usage process in the manual.Finally, read SOH value again to judge battery status.Is the process right?

1. When using the gauge in EOS mode, you can use the default chem
2. SOH in this case will not be accurate except the chem id was generated for your cell. EOS is what is what will work fine if the id was not specifically for your cells

Hi Onyx，

Thank you for your quick reply.
If I want to know when the battery will run out, do I have to find the ID of our battery?Then read the SOH value to determine if the battery is running out.

The EOS mode provides that functionality and for that you do not need the exact chem id for the cell

Hi Onyx，
A sharp increase in battery impedance indicates that the battery is nearly unavailable. Once the equation below is satisfied an EOS condition is set in the Battery Alert register.
ShortTrend Average > Long Trend Average * (1 + EOS Trent Detection / 100)

Am I going to read BatteryStatus () ALET bits to see if the battery is going to run out?

Yes you can use the alert pin or you can poll the registers.

If I just read the Alert status, what preparations should I make and what parameters should I set before production? Is there any Golden Image and documentation available for my reference?
