which processor/microcontroller would you advise for controlling 8 RGB panels of 32x32 RGB diodes, or simply 512xTLC6946?

Hi,

For 32x32 RGB panel, it only needs 6 TLC6946 device with 32-scan, 16 channels design, with this connection, there are total 48 TLC6946 devices.

And another question, do you mean use one MCU/FPGA to control 8 panels?

I will suggest to use FPGA in this application.
