EMB1499Q: Fault code 0x4 ( 0100b)

Part Number: EMB1499Q
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EM1402EVM

Hello,

I use EMB1428 and EMB1499 chipset to balance 12s battery (there are two stacked sets - 6s each). When I try to charge certain cells (5th and 6th when the 1st one is connected to the ground) I receive error 0x4 (0100b). If I understand correctly this means that Fault[2:0] are set to 100. According to EMB1499Q datasheet this is Watchdog Timeout. But the strange thing is that I get this error not after 8 seconds as declared.

I can see on the oscilloscope that sending a command 0110000b (charge 5th cell) cell is connected but it disconnects just when the charge begins. so it seems that it has nothing to do with the watchdog timeout..

How should I understand this fault signal?
