BQ76PL455A-Q1: Connection with battery stacks

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL455A

HELLO SIR!!

I am thinking to use the above IC for construction of my BMS.

For the battery pack we are going to have 11 cells in series and 10 cells in parallel, and like these we are having 4 stacks.

Can you help me out with a solution of how to use the IC for the above configuration.

  • Hi Ankit,

Welcome to the TI E2E forums and thanks for the question! Yes it is possible to use the bq76pl455a as a monitor/protector for this application. The best place to start would be to utilize some of our documentation that has examples for applications using less than 16 cells such as the Use Case Scenarios and Design Recommendation app notes located here www.ti.com/.../technicaldocuments. If you have any specific questions or need clarity on the documents, please let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Taylor
