UC2845AQ: Recommended Operating condition of Tj and Ta

Hello Experts,

I want to know recommended operating conditon of Tj and Ta. I confirmed datasheet but it is not stated crearly. Also datasheet stated that "Extended Temperature Performance of -40degC and +125degC". What is this, Ta or Tj?

Hello Fujiwara san,
As you say the UC2845AQ has an operating temperature range of -40C to +125C.
The parameter values listed in the parametric table section of the data sheet are all tested and valid for a junction temperature range anywhere between these two extremes of temperature. During the parametric characterisation, the device dissipates no power and so the ambient temperature is equal to the junction temperature. The recommended operating ambient and junction temperature is anywhere between -40C and +125C

I have one more question. What is ABS of Tj? It is not stated in the datasheet.

Hi Fujiwara,

Please see the two below references to the temperature that I found in the datasheet for UCx84xA.

This is a case where there is a non-automotive device and an automotive qual’d device. When questions like this come up you should first check to see if there is a non-auto device with the same part number without the Q designating auto qualification. In this case there is a whole family of products UCx84xA that have different temp ratings as shown in their datasheet http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/uc1844a.pdf.

So the Absolute Maximum Rating of Tj of UC2845AQ is -55 - 150℃.
