UCC27712: Do we have good part to drive FF450R12ME4

Part Number: UCC27712
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC5390, UCC21520

hi,

do we have product can drive FF450R12ME4? the datasheet as attached. This is a IGBT module, the VCES=1200V. I search the ti.com can't find product can handle this high voltage IGBT. Do you have some ideas about it?

thanks,

  • Hello Betty,
Thank you for the interest in the UCC27712 and TI gate drivers. I reviewed the datasheet of the Infineon IGBT and see that it is a 1200V, 450A half bridge module.
The details of the application will determine what will be the best driver solution, and TI has several driver solutions that can address your needs.
If you need to operate the high side driver with switch node voltages > 600V you will need to use one of our high voltage isolated driver solutions.
Since this is a high gate charge module, the UCC5390 single isolated driver provides 10A of gate driver current to drive high charge devices. The UCC53x0 is a family of devices offered in configurations with miller clamp, two ground references on the driver side for positive and negative drive bias, and spit outputs. This is a device family to consider for IGBT drive.
If you want a two channel driver, the UCC21520 is a dual isolated driver that is rated for 1500V between the two driver output channels.
The details on the switching frequency of your application, the peak voltage of the IGBT VCE, and if you will have a positive and negative VGE gate drive will determine which part is the best solution.

Please confirm if this addresses your questions, you can request more information on this thread if you need.

    Regards,
