How do I identify a suitable diode?
Hi Jimmy
Apparently the images didn't work.
Here's a link to the design:
My load is actually only in the low uA range, so I've preliminary selected a schottky diode: www.diodes.com/.../ds30548.pdf
My input is a stable 5V, and size is of importance, and I need operating temp from -40 to +125degC ambient.
Best regards
Jon Eirik
Hi Jon,
You can choose any diode to satisfy your requirement. The "custom diode" in the inverting buck simulation is only meant as a placeholder for such. The specific diode that I used during bench testing for the inverting applicatoion is the 1N5821GOS 30V/3A through-hole diode. There is a surface mount flavor(PMEG3030EP) with similar specs.

Jimmy
