BQ25713EVM-017: Device is not recognised by BQStudio and raises Device ACK Error

Hello,

I was setting up the BQ25713EVM-017 evaluation board along with EV2400. I am using BQStudio v1.3.86 build date June 8,2018. When I click the read register button after changing the update mode to Manual, BQStudio raises a "Device ACK Error". I double checked the connections and the eval board is indeed connected to I2C port on the EV2400. I am using the file "Charger_1_00-bq25713_APL.bqz" as suggested in one of the previous forum posts but it still raises this error.

Any help resolving this issue will be appreciated.

Hey Nosherwan,

Is there either a battery or a VBUS input applied to the EVM?

Do the charger acknowledge when in the "Immediate" update mode?

Hey Joel,

The board was connected to a power supply on the connector J1.

I did not try on "Immediate" update mode. I will try it and let you know if it raises the same error.

I tried using the immediate update mode with the target address changed to D6 and that has seem to work.
