UCC28180: UCC28180 with UCC256304

Hello,

We are working on 560W 24V/20A dc converter. We would like to use UCC28180 as PFC controller and UCC256304 as LLC controller ( because we want PFC and LLC work on single single auxilary supply for VCC).

Is it possible to integrate both ICs??

If yes than how??

because UCC256304 has fix RVCC 12V and UCC28180 has maximum uvlo 12V.

If there is any reference design including both ICs plaese share.

Hello Asif,

Please refer to TIDA-01494(linked below), the schematic is an example of using a single Aux supply to power both the PFC and LLc stages. As you mentioned correctly that UCC28180 has a typ TurnON threshold of 11.5V so using a 12V supply should be fine to initiate startup.

Can we interface UCC28180 with UCC256304 as PMP21160, means auxilary supply from LLC transformer itself, no external power supply board.

Hello Asif,

You can not use UCC256304 VCC to power UCC28180 because of the VCC_UVLO_on trip threshold.

You might be able to use a Zener clamped emitter follower between UCC256304 VCC pin and UCC28180 VCC pin to power the PFC controller.
