UCC2897A feature of low output jitter

Part Number: UCC2897A

Hi Team,

The UCC2897A datasheet shows feature of low output jitter.

Could you please help to explain it? How to enable it?

  • Hello Ray Chang,
Jitter on the output is not something you would wish for in a power supply and anything you can do to eliminate this is greatly appreciated.
My understanding of the source jitter in an active clamp topology is that it relates to a premature turn on of the clamp FET.
The UCC2897A allows for a time delay between the main FET turning off and the clamp FET turning on.
This results in the elimination of a source of output jitter when self driven synchronous rectifiers are used in the output circuit.

    Regards
    John
