LM3481: Do you have some recommend device to achieve isolation?

Hi team,

My customer is looking for solution to do isolation, the key requirement is below. Do you have some recommend device? Thanks.

Vin: 6~36V

Vout:48V

Pmax:120W

    Hi Frank,

    This can be done with a forward (preferred) or flyback. As you Vin=6V, at 120W the input current will be >20A dc, and in a flyback it will be much higher than that. I would recommend the LM5122 in a flyback but leave the sync FET driver unloaded, namely use the diode on the secondary. The driver of the LM5122 will be strong enough. Other boost controllers like the LM5155, LM3478, or TPS40210 may appear weak in the driver to process the 120W.
