How does this procedure change for the TPS65218 since it does not have off status register command (step 1).

System power off sequence:

Set PMIC STATUS_OFF when PMIC_POWER_EN is pulled low
Enable PMIC_POWER_EN in rtc module
Set rtc ALARM2 time
Enable ALARM2 interrupt

Hi Nic,

Pulling PWR_EN low should be enough to shut down the device, there may not be any additional software instructions required.

Nic,

Rick is correct: pulling PWR_EN low will enter the OFF state unless "DCDC1 = ON || DCDC2 = ON || DCDC3 = ON || DCDC4 = ON || LDO1 = ON", which means that the corresponding SEQx register has been set to 0h, as outline in Figure 5-34. Modes of Operation Diagram and section 5.4.4 SUSPEND on pages 47-48 of the TPS65218D0 datasheet.
