TPS61194: VBOOST questions

Part Number: TPS61194

Hi team,

Could you please help answer the questions about TPS61194 VBOOST?

  1. When I calculate output voltage, there is a K factor in equation, what does it mean?
  2. What is maximum/minimum adaptive boost voltage?
  3. Is the VBOOST the same when panel is at brightest and darkest?

Best regards,

Sam Ting

  • Hi Sam,
The K factor was used to determain and calculated the adaptive boost voltage.
You ca refer to equation upon to calculate the maximum and minimum boost voltage with different K value. The maximum boost volage was used to optimize the efficiency based on your LED forward volatge and current headroom voltage. You don't need to consider the minimum boost voltage.Usually we only consider the maximum boost voltage.
Of course no, the Boost volatge will drop when you disable the current sink, and it will increase when you enable the current sink based on the adaptive algorithm.
