TPS650864: Issue with TI PMIC TPS6508641

Part Number: TPS650864
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IPG-UI

Hi Support,

Am experiencing BUCK3 voltage stuck at 1.1V, despite CTL6 is currently pulled to ‘0’

According to datasheet (page 34), BUCK3 voltage should be 1.2V, please see below:

Thanks.

  • Hi ikon,

I'm looping in the device expert to help with this. Can you confirm the value set in register 0x24h?

    Best Regards,
    Rick S.
  • Hi Rick,
I would like to send to you schematic configuration and picture of the power-up.
I found that the output voltage of buck3 is ripple so the output voltage is only 1.1V. Same for buck6 is ripple, so the output voltage of SWB1_2 and LDOA2 is biased (as in the attachment).
I had configured the value set in register 0x24. But unchanged.
Can we take this offline? Would like to share confidential schematic.
    Thanks.
  • Hi Ikon,

I am the device expert for the TPS6508641. I will send you a private message so you can share the schematic and scope shots with me.

When you say that the 0x24 register is unchanged, are you still reading 41h in that register? If you can power up the device and send me a register dump (located under the "report" dropdown at the top of the IPG-UI) I can take a look at all of your register setting and see if I notice anything out of the ordinary.
  • Ikon,

Since we have taken this offline I am going to close this thread.
