BQ24780S: time delay between ACDET<2.4V and ACFET off

Part Number: BQ24780S

Hi Team,

May i have your help to know the time delay between ACDET<2.4V and ACFET off?

i just checked the datasheet of bq24780s and there is only deglitch time for ACOK falling deglitch to turn off ACFET, but doesn't define the delay time from ACDET falling to pull down ACOK.

  • Hi Henry,

Here are a couple of waveforms that might help. The adapter voltage is 20 V, the battery voltage is 10 V, and the system is drawing a constant current of 500 mA.

The 1st waveform is a big picture showing adapter removal and re-insertion. When the adapter is re-inserted, there is a 1.3 second deglitch time before ACFET turns on and causes VSYS = VBUS, as described in the datasheet.

The 2nd waveform zooms in on the falling edge when the adapter is removed. After ACDET falls below 2.4 V, it takes approximately 1 ms for ACFET to turn fully off and cause VSYS = VBAT.

    Best Regards,

    Angelo
