BQ27441-G1: SOC value some drastic drop after overnight relax

Hi All,

We are using BQ27441, battery with design capacity 5200mAh. Current consumption roughly around 1+ (Amp) when full load. 

Test scenario running the device  with full load for roughly 90~120mins and then shutdown.Power ON after 10~14 Hrs. 

 SOC value before shutdown & after (overnight gap) power on show drastic drop.

In other test scenario running the device with full load  for 10~30 mins & then shutdown & power ON roughly same gap, drop in SOC value is normal.       

Appreciate your feedback to understand this behavior. Or something we missed out while learning cycle.

    You need to provide log files of the behavior and gg files of your settings so we know how to address. Did you configure the gauge properly following the quickstart guide?

    Attached is the Golden image in use. For log files I didn't get that or we don't have. As explained in behavior we are shutting down the device.

    Yes, I think we followed all steps. Please let me know if you need any more info our side.

  • Hi Zahir

    Did you run our online tool gpcchem to determine if this gauge will have a good chem id match for your cell? Furthermore, when you shutdown the system, is the gauge shut down as well or the gauge is kept powered? if the gauge shuts down, it looses any learned data and upon wake up with will use default settings and that will cause wrong readings.
