LM4041C: build a constant current source with LM4041c

Part Number: LM4041C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL431, LM4041-N

Hi team,

My customer wants to build a constant current source with LM4041C. The current will go into a PT100 to sense the temperature. I noticed in our TL431 datasheet, we have a constant current sink example as below picture. But the structure of LM4041C is different from TL431 and customer wants a current source instead of a current sink. So could you please help design a constant current source circuit with LM4041C? Thanks.

Best regards,

Wayne

  • Hi Wayne,

Is this the adjustable version (ADJ) version of the LM4041C?
If so then figure 26 on the LM4041-N datasheet shows a current source configuration.

We have 2 version of the LM4041.
    LM4041: TI designed version
LM4041-N: Acquired from the national acquisition.

If this is the fixed version then we have to make a separate schematic that will be less accurate than the ADJ.
