Hi all,

we are having issues communicating with a BQ27210 BOARD we designed through the EV2300 and the BQ software (dedicated to BQ27xx0).

  1. the battery is communicating with our uC.
  2. battery is connected to the EV2300 to a Windows 10 64bit computer.with 10KOhM pull ups to external power supply 3.3V (GND is connected to PACK-).
  3. I can see the signal running on the CLK and DATA but the GUI is not refreshing or showing '1' (FF) on all registers.
  4. Battery is functioning - discharging  and charging.

should I install a different driver ? different OS ?

    Are these signals the clock and data lines ? if so,you have too much capacitance on the lines. pls reduce the capacitance on the line

    Can you try a different computer with a different OS as well

    Hi Onyx,

    hope all is well!!

    1) can I maybe link the capacitance to the scope or EV2300 ?
    our BMS is very small and I can't imagine it have any parasitic capacitance.
    other  TI based BMS work properly with BQEASY and BQSTUDIO, SMBUS and I2C.

    2) we tried:
    WIN7 64, WIN7, 32, WIN10 64.

    can you share a SW DRIVER + EV2300 + OS combination that positively works for you so we can rule this out?

    I am doing well, thanks for asking. It has been a while. hope you are well!

    If that is indeed the clock and data lines, then you need to figure out why your signals are so distorted. Do you have an esd diode or caps on the comm lines that could be contributing to the distortion of the signals? the other TI based bms are the clock and data lines like that?

    if you have an ev2400, you should try that as well. If it doesn't work with the ev2400, then it is certainly the distorted signals fault.

    For the ev2300, try this driver and install as an administrator

    e2e.ti.com/.../EV2300a_5F00_Device_5F00_Driver_5F00_Installer_5F00_Multilanguage.exe

    Dear Onyx,
    our connector adds capacitance to the line.
    bypassing it, gave a perfect signal and the SW works.
    also the driver helped.
