BQ28Z610: changing the DesignCapacity parameter

we are unable to change the default setting of DesignCapacity=4400 to our custom value - the save of the new value fails.

According to the documentation the device needs to be in US / FA setting and in SE the device can only read.

For Security Mode SE1,SE0 bits we see '0'.

Can you advise how to change the DesignCapacity?

Your device should read SEC1, SEC0 as 01 in full access mode. Once you are in full access, you can change it directly in df using bqstudio. Check your voltage as well. Your evm should be above valid update voltage which is 2800mV for df writes.

Hi Batt,

we would like to be configuring the chip straight on our board (without bqstudio).

Can you advise in what state is bq28z610 factory programmed and what needs to be done at minimum to configure it to work with a battery pack consisting of two Li-ion 4.2V cells in 18650 packages?

The information we need:
Temperature()
Voltage()
BatteryStatus()
Current()
RemainingCapacity()
FullChargeCapacity()
RelativeStateOfCharge

The gauge is configured for a 2s pack with Qmax of 4400 and a chem ID of 1210. All of these need to be changed and your specific battery has to be learned before you can use the gauge. I would recommend using the evm to work all this out before you go into production. Please use the recommended flow for your design in, it will make the job easier.
