TPS22961: VBIAS of 5V & 3.3V

Part Number: TPS22961

Hey Team,

quick question for you, what is the risk associated with having a VBIAS of 5V and a VIN of 3.3V for the TPS22961DNYR part? We see that the RDSon would not be ideal and the part may be more stressed, but what problems would we create if we ran the part in this configuration?

Regards,

Ramon Jimenez

  • Hi Ramon,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E!

There is not adverse effects by running the device with a VBIAS of 3.3V instead of 5V. As you mentioned, the RDSon and slew rate would be slightly affected, but the device will still operate properly with a VBIAS of 3.3V.

    Thanks,
