UCC24624: On-time blanking at turning on the power supply

Part Number: UCC24624

Bing-san,

As AC goes up and the power stage of LLC is up, norm 4.75 ns On-time blanking is fixed?
If so, there is a danger of shoot-through.
Since fixed on-time blanking is also applied at startup, the problem of shoot-through occurred in SR of NXP.

  • Hi, Doi-san,

I understand the issue you have. Basically, when IC coming out of the UVLO, if it is the middle of the cycle, it turns on the SR. With the minimum on time setting, there is the danger of shoot through.

In UCC24624, there is a different mechanism coming out of UVLO. After IC coming out of UVLO, instead of immediately switching, the IC will wait for 4 switching cycles and then start to turn on the SR at the beginning of the switching cycle. In this way, even the SR is turned on late, it avoids the issue you mentioned.

Let me know if this is clear.

      Thanks.
