BQ34Z950: Relative SoC different with Absolute SoC

Hi Ti,

Currently I'm facing problem with my battery. Why the Relative SoC show 97% while the Absolute SoC only 6%? My battery is 12.6V and I already discharge it to 10.4V. The voltage reading is correct, but the Relative SoC is abnormal. What should I do to correct this issue? Is there any command I need to write to the IC?

Change your design capacity to the correct value. ASOC is RM/Design capacity.

Dear Batt,

What do you mean by change my design capacity? Do you mean I need to update my firmware to follow my design capacity? or I need to charge my battery back to get the full capacity as per design capacity? FYI, my design capacity is 5200mAh.

You need to update the df and enter the manufacturer specified design capacity for the cell there.
