TPS23754: Auxiliary winding spec for TPS23754

Part Number: TPS23754

I am using the TPS23754 in a fly-back topology.

The input voltage can be 24V via midspan or 48V PoE.

The output voltage is 5.5V 2.1A.

I started with a 10V auxiliary winding which appears just too low at 24V input and low loads.

Now I want to increase the auxiliary winding to 11V.

What is the recommended auxiliary winding voltage?

Regards,

Harold

  • Hi Harold,

The abs max & recommended voltages for Vc can be found in sections 6.1 & 6.3 of the TPS23754 datasheet, respectively.

Take a look at PMP6672 for an example reference design (feel free to copy) with 5V output & 24Vin operation.

Be sure that your transformer is designed specifically for wide Vin. We walk through the calculations necessary for transformer selection in section 2.5 & 2.6 of slva305c.
