Recommendation of power chip

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5020

Hi

We want to design an auxiliary power supply, input voltage is 9Vdc~75Vdc, output is 12Vdc/0.5A.

Is there a suitable chip recommendation (either flyback or buck-boost)?

Thank you,

Jerry

  • Hi Jerry,

Thank you for reaching out. You may consider the LM5020 in a flyback configuration. Remember to use LM5020-1 which has a max duty cycle limit of 80%. If your transformer turn ration is 1:1.2, you will need about 68% duty cycle to regulate the output with 9V input, and 21% duty cycle with 75V input. Please contact a magnetics vendor for a proper flyback transformer.

    Thanks,
