HI there,

I currently have a BQ33100EVM-001 and the requisite EV2300 comms module. i am attempting to use the circuit to measure the charging/discharging and general states of supercapacitors for a university project.

i have followed the online manuals and downloaded the software, only to find that the computer doesnt recognise the card...

i am currently running the setup on an older laptop with Windows 7, (i downloaded and installed the updated software to work on 7).

however, nothing still works... is there a step that i am missing somewhere?

any help would be greatly appreciated, as i am unable to get the chipset to function.

Hi Jemal,

If you're using a 32 bit version of windows, please use these drivers for the ev2300: www.ti.com/.../slec003

If you're using a 64 bit version of windows, please use these 'unofficial' drivers for the ev2300: e2e.ti.com/.../EV2300a_5F00_Device_5F00_Driver_5F00_Installer_5F00_Multilanguage.exe

Please check the EV2300 to ensure the firmware is more recent than 3.1c. If the firmware is 3.1c, another EV2300 will be required to update the firmware.

You can easily check the version of the EV2300 by downloading bqStudio, found here: ti.com/tool/bqstudio

With the EV2300 plugged in via usb, start bqStudio and select any gauge in the list. On the left side of the dashboard you will see a connected USB icon and the version number.

If the firmware of the EV2300 is older than version 3.1c, please source another EV2300 and use this updater: https://e2e.ti.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/8816.EV23000_5F00_876FW-Updater.zip
