Power IC Recommendation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65313-Q1

Our new project country six diesel engine ECU, now need to find a power IC

The requirements are as follows:

1. Power input 6-40v

2. 5v ± 0.1v output capacity 800mA

3. Sensor Tracker power supply 5v output capacity 30mA

4. 1.2~1.3v output capacity 800mA

5. 3.3v output capacity 150mA

6. Integrated watchdog / EN / RESET / in accordance with ISO26262

The current output capability allows for changes, and it is recommended to recommend TI's power chip.

  • Hi Meng,

TPS65313-Q1 seems like a good fit here.

It operates from 4 V to 36 V input and generates 3.3 V supply which it can boost up to generate 5 V. This ensures the 5 V is good during cold crank scenario when input power drops below 6 V. The remaining buck has a default output voltage of 1.25 V and can be scaled by software as needed. It has enough current to hit your targets with margin, only thing it doesn't have is a "sensor tracker", but perhaps this could be achieved with a discrete regulator. It has integrated watchdog, EN, RESET, and supports System-Level Functional Safety Requirements up to ASIL-C (ISO 26262).
