I see in the datasheet of BQ40Z50-R2(page 35) that 'Internal cell balancing can only support up to 10mA. External cell balancing is provided as another option for faster cell balancing. For details,refer to the application note, Fast Cell Balancing Using external MOSFET(SLUA420)'.
Then I jumped to SLUA420 paper and I see the cell balancing circuit which uses external MOSFET shown in the Figure 2 on page 3.
We use four cells for our battery pack. Then how I connect my four cells to the BQ40Z50-R2? It seems there is no pin on BQ40Z50-R2 which is dotted RED on above figure.
If I can do cell balancing for only three cells with BQ40Z50-R2?
